ZESCO Increases Daily Power Supply from 3 to 5 Hours
ZESCO Limited has disclosed that it has increased daily electricity supply from 3 to 5 hours, effective today 1st November, 2024.
Company Spokesperson Matongo Maumbi stated that this follows implementation of the emergency tariff adjustment which has taken effect today.
“To support this improvement, the Corporation has implemented an updated national power rationing schedule, optimizing power imports and enhancing output from Independent Power Producers where possible,” Mr. Maumbi stated.
Mr. Maumbi however said while ZESCO aims to provide a consistent 5-hour supply, the availability of power imports and other unforeseen factors may occasionally affect this schedule.
“In such cases, ZESCO will keep customers and the public updated in real-time.” If customers experience an outage lasting more than 24 hours, please report, as this may indicate a technical issue needing urgent attention.”
“ZESCO appreciates the public’s understanding and remains committed to delivering the best possible service under these challenging conditions,” he added.
He added that the Corporation will continue to inform the public as soon as further increases in daily power supply are possible.
