MQHZ Welcomes US$20 Million Susan Thompson Buffet Foundation Project
Medical for Quality Healthcare in Zambia (MQHZ) says the US$20 million Susan Thompson Buffet Foundation project aligns with the organization’s advocacy for enhanced healthcare funding.
Recently, President Hakainde Hichilema directed the Ministry of Health to expedite the process of engaging the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation over the proposed US$20 million investment in the health sector.
Speaking in an interview with Money News, Organization Director General, Dr. Mwabu says the funds will address critical challenges, including infrastructure gaps, equipment shortages, and personnel deficiencies.
Dr. Mwabu adds that effective utilization will prioritize healthcare worker training, infrastructure development, and modern equipment procurement, ultimately enhancing service delivery, health outcomes, and economic growth.
He has since applauded President Hichilema’s commitment to healthcare development, demonstrated through initiatives such as health worker recruitment and volunteer support.
