FAZ Hands Over US$75, 000 Cheque to Ministry of Education

Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) General Secretary Reuben Kamanga has presented a $75,000 cheque to Education Minister Douglas Syakalima.

The Zambia Under-15 Schools team finished as runners-up after losing the final to South Africa on post-match penalties in the 2024 CAF African Schools Football Championship | COSAFA Qualifiers held in Windhoek, Namibia.

Speaking during the cheque handover this morning in Lusaka, Kamanga said the ministry remains an all-weather friend of the association as they continue to develop capacity among teachers by offering coach and referee training.

Kamanga states that the association remains committed to the ministry for its continued support, adding that the prize money from the school’s championship will be reinvested.

Kamanga adds that developing grassroots football remains a top priority of the association; hence, it will continue working with the Ministry of Education in a bid to tap more talent that will in turn represent Zambia at the top level of football.
