Police Refutes Assertions Regarding Recruitment of Minor
Zambia Police Service has refuted social media assertions that it has employed a minor, who recently graduated under the 2024 recruitment exercise.
Police Assistant Public Relations Officer, Godfrey Chilabi said in a statement that the allegations are completely unfounded because the newly graduated female officer, Constable Mumbi Pascalina, whose photo is trending online, is over 20 years old.
Mr. Chilabi stated that Constable Pascalina fully meets all the recruitment requirements, including the age criterion, which stipulates that applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
“Zambia Police Service strongly refutes recent allegations circulating on social media platforms, claiming that the Service recruited and employed a minor.”
“Before her recruitment, all necessary personal records and documentation were thoroughly verified to ensure compliance with our recruitment standards and protocols,” Mr. Chilabi stated.
He reiterated that the claims are baseless and aimed at tarnishing the reputation of the Zambia Police Service.
“We encourage the public to rely on credible information and avoid spreading unverified claims,” he added.
