2025 National Budget Expected to Address The Increasing Demand for Adequate Funding Across Primary and Boarding Schools

National Action for Quality Education in Zambia (NAQEZ) says the 2025 national budget should address the increasing demand for adequate funding across primary and boarding schools, colleges as well as universities.

NAQEZ Executive Director, Dr. Aaron Chansa says there is also need to adequately fund the revised education curriculum earmarked for implementation in January, 2025.
Dr. Chansa further says the organization hopes to hear how the government will fix the broken promises in the education sector, as Finance Minister Dr. Situmbeko Musokotwane, presents next year’s budget this Friday.

He notes that during the presentation of the 2024 National budget last year, Dr. Miso promised to upgrade salaries for teachers who had attained higher professional qualifications but this has not materialized up to date.

Dr. Chansa also expects the budget to prioritize the installation of solar panels in schools across the country, in the wake of the growing threat of climate change.
